Celery can be started indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. Celery can also be planted in the Fall in locations where frost is not a concern. Celery requires lots of sun and water. Keeping roots moist is vital. Plant tiny celery seeds carefully and LIGHTLY cover with soil or vermiculite. Mist frequently, but carefully to avoid disturbing seeds.

Be sure to provide your celery with plenty of water, taking special care during hot and dry days. Celery can tolerate some light frost, but may experience some light damage to the outer stalks. Celery can continue to produce stalks in the center, so harvesting a few outer stalks from each plant allows for continued harvest and less need to successively plant.
